About This Item: This is a military pattern knife made for private sale by the leading cutlery firm of Sheffield, Joseph Rodgers & Sons, No. 6 Norfolk Street. The design was registered at the British Patent Office in 1900 Rd 354051 stamped on the handle). This particular knife was made after 1910, as it is marked G(crown)R on the tang of the master blade. The knife includes a sturdy wire cutter, for both barbed wire and signal wire, as well as a spear blade, and a British pattern tin opener.
Two versions of this knife were made before and during World War I. This knife is of the type that has the bail attached to the pliers handle latch piggyback fashion.This is an extremely rare knife in any condition.
